Defining Content

I've spent my entire career building skills across a wide range of disciplines, gaining experience in most facets of content creation with a heavy lean towards video production, such that I now have an extensive toolset to access when developing creative responses to real-world problems.

A history in newsgathering and advertising, working across government agencies and within limited budgets has taught me to look for simple, remarkable stories told in an interesting way to deliver essential messaging with the ability to cut through in saturated media streams.

Recent Works

Policing Domestic and Family Violence was released in May of 2021 during Domestic Violence Awareness Month after a production timeline of five months. The video was featured on social media and gained significant earned media through traditional channels. I shared filming duties with Sarah Ebsworth and editing duties with Nicholas Elsworth who also produced and ran interviews. To meet the tight deadline of a 20 minute edited documentary in four weeks production time we had at times six producers working on the project.

In response to a rapid increase in the prevalence of Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Batteries in common household products, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services produced three digital advertisements to highlight safe practices for charging and storing batteries. The commercials were produced in-house on no budget using a mixture of practical and composited effects to simulate Lithium-Ion Battery fires.

Youth Crime is a concerning problem facing Queensland residents right now and it’s something everyone has an opinion. This can take one of the most complex issues facing our society and reduce it down to soundbites that offer short term solutions for a problem that could take a generation to solve. Policing Youth Offenders looks behind the curtain at the causes, the realities and the possible ways forward that could see actual positive change for some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
